Pink Snow

In our front yard, we have two cherry trees. When they are in full bloom they are beautiful. After they bloom, we (and our neighbors) have pink petals all over our yards until the grass is cut or a big rain washes them away. One night last week, they were nearing the end of their beauty and we went out to play in the petals before they were gone. Brent had taken the boys on a wagon ride after supper, and these are the pics from after they got home.

Soccer Game #3

Andrew's third soccer game was the most exciting yet! Every player always plays two quarters, and it's been hard to get Andrew to participate the whole time. This week, he actually got into the game and kicked the ball! Twice! One time he even made a great stop for the team. Here are the pics from the day.

Andrew learning to be the "stopper" as he called it.
You may have heard this position referred to as "goalie."

Andrew kicking the ball in the game! Our whole sideline cheered for him!

After the game, two players from each team are awarded a sportsmanship/participation patch to go on their jersey. Andrew was selected for our team this week. Here he is receiving his patch.

Soccer Game #2

Here are the pics from Andrew's second soccer game. This was also picture day. They made a team and individual pictures before they played. Unfortunately, this was not such a good idea for Andrew. He completely melted down at the beginning of the second quarter and would not play. So we left and came home and took a good, long nap. I think he was just overtired. We had already been to the park that morning, and then standing around waiting on pictures in the heat didn't help anything. We were able to get a few good pics before the meltdown began.

This was just before we left. I mean, could he look more pitiful?
Fortunately, Game 3 went tons better. I'll try to post that tomorrow.

Nana and Pop-O

Nana and Pop-O came for a visit last weekend. Here are some highlights of their stay.

After a yummy supper at The Loop, we went for ice cream. What a treat!

You can see Coleman is still perfecting his no-hands, no-utensils style of eating.

Saturday morning, we went to Miller Park. We had the place pretty much to ourselves. It was a perfect day to be outside.

That afternoon was Andrew's second soccer game. I'll save that for tomorrow.

"Jesus Loves Me" with a side of ham

Andrew has always loved music of any kind. We have several videos of him dancing when he was little that are just hilarious. Lately though, he is focusing more on his singing skills. He is getting pretty good at carrying a tune. This weekend he put on a concert for his grandparents and we caught it on tape. The video isn't that great, but you should be able to hear him pretty well. Watch for his "inner ham" to come out at the end.

Easter Baskets

I realize that it is now over a week past Easter and I am just getting around to posting about Easter baskets. Oh well. This is my scrapbook, and I want the pictures included. This is the last Easter post for this year.

We decided to start doing Easter baskets on Saturday so that we don't have that going on Sunday morning trying to get ready for church. After naptime, these were waiting for the boys.

Andrew got sand blocks in his basket and Coleman got rhythm sticks.

I found these cute little lanterns at Wal-Mart. They love to take them in the closet and read.

I have no idea why this picture downloaded sideways. But this puzzle has been the biggest hit! They both love it. And Andrew can do the whole thing by himself.

Egg Hunting

We had our Third Annual Playgroup Easter Egg Hunt and Picnic Lunch at Carly and Joiner's again this year. The kids all had a great time. We will really miss this activity next spring! Here are some highlights.

Makena and her mommy made these really cute cupcakes with peeps on top. Personally, I cannot eat peeps. Coleman decided to eat his first peep with an unusual technique.
The no hands thing worked out pretty well, so he kept it up.

It was a really great day. Everyone had a super nap that afternoon.
