Andrew's 7th Birthday

So now that we've seen the Disney pictures, let's back up and catch up on the rest of 2013.  January brings us to Andrew's birthday.  This year our seven year old did all his celebrating on one big day.  He woke up to our birthday streamers and decorated breakfast table.  Gigi and Papack had come the day before so they could help with Jonathan during the party.  For breakfast, Andrew ordered biscuits, ham, bacon and eggs.

His party was at lunchtime at the laser tag place.  We were given this party room to decorate.  Andrew, like most other seven year old boys, is all about Legos.  So, a Lego theme seemed a great idea.

His friends arrived and played a round of laser tag.  Claire was the only girl to make the guest list this year, and I was a little worried that she might not enjoy the party.  I told her mom that we would completely understand if she decided she didn't want to attend, but Claire was pumped that she got to do laser tag with everyone!  In fact, Claire was one of the smartest players we had.  She hid herself in the maze and then ambushed everyone who came along who wasn't on her team.  She did quite well!!

Then we headed to the party room to eat pizza and cake.

And of course he opened presents.  Lots of Legos!

We sang Happy Birthday and ate cake.

I thought it was pretty funny that mostly dads brought their boys to the party.  Only one mommy friend was there for me and Gigi to talk to.

They played a second round of laser tag and then everyone had tokens to use in the arcade.

It took some longer than others to make up their minds about what "treasures" to purchase with their tickets.

Our party favors were thanks to Pinterest.  I made these marshmallow minifigure heads,

Lego brick cookies,

and a few other fun surprises and put them in these bags for everyone.

Gigi and Papack took Jonathan home after the cake so he could get his nap.  Brent and the boys and I loaded up all our things after the party and headed home.  We stopped by the mall and the grocery store to pick up a few more things I needed for our next celebration.  When I came out of the mall, this is what I saw in the back seat.

We got home and got ready for Nana and Pop-O to come join the fun.  For supper, Andrew chose hamburgers and hot dogs, nacho chips with cheese dip and I don't remember what else.

There was cookie cake with Blue Bell for dessert.

And then more presents to open.

Bath time and a picture with the grands.

 A family of five picture,

and then us and our first boy.

What a fun day we had celebrating you, Andrew.  You were and are still such a blessing to our family and to everyone who knows you.  We are having so much fun watching you grow up.  If you could just slow down a little bit, we would love that too.  We are so very proud of you and we love you more than you can imagine.

Every good and perfect gift comes from above.  James 1:17
